DALHOUSIE GLOBAL BRIGADES (DGB) is one of the many chapters of Global Brigades across North America and Europe. Establish by Chantelle McMullin and Marissa Ley, DGB became an active chapter in the fall of 2009. In February 2010 students participated in their first medical brigade in Honduras only five months after starting! In August 2011 Dalhousie had the first Canadian brigade to Ghana, and returned to Ghana in 2012 and 2013. We also had out first Public Health Brigade go to Panama in 2013. More recently, we sent a medical/dental/public health brigade to Panama this past August. We are always looking for students who are dedicated to the research, design, and construction of socially responsible, environmentally sustainable solutions towards problems in the developing world to join us. There are currently nine different types of brigades, over 12,000 volunteers, 300,000 benificiaries and 273 chapters. Time on-campus has been dedicated to recruitment, fundraising and collecting supplies and donations. Dalhousie currently offers medical/dental, public health and water brigades.
